Alaska Medicare Assistance Programs
Alaska’s Medicare Assistance programs include Medicaid, a state funded program for those with low income which requires the prospective Medicare enrollee meet certain eligibility requirements. There is a Low Income Subsidy program that helps those enrollees with Medicaid attain the ability to pay for any drug costs that come out-of-their pockets.
Alaska also offers other assistance programs such as the Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, also known as PACE, which helps with most health care costs. And the assistance program called the State Health Insurance Program which provides free counseling services for seniors looking for Medicare coverage.
The Senior Benefits Program in Alaska was passed in 2007 and helps individuals on limited incomes. The benefits program pays those who meet certain low-income eligibility requirements.
