Connecticut Medicare Assistance Programs

Various Connecticut Medicare Assistance programs exist to help enrollees who cannot afford to pay out- of-pocket costs for their health care. Connecticut Medicare assistance programs include Medicaid, which is a state funded program for low-income Medicare enrollees. ConnPACE, which is one of three Connecticut Medicare Savings programs, helps Medicaid qualified individuals to pay premiums and other out of pocket expenses.

In addition to these Connecticut Medicare assistance programs, a LIS, or Low Income Subsidy is also available to those who qualify for Medicaid but do not qualify for other help. Connecticut also offers the Connecticut Program for Health Insurance Assistance Outreach, Information & Referral Counseling and Eligibility Screening, or CHOICES program to help consumers obtain affordable health insurance coverage. This program provides Connecticut with various counseling services, among other assistance programs.
