- $8,535 was spent per Medicare enrollee in Maryland.
Maryland Medicare Assistance Programs
The Maryland Medical Assistance program, or Medicaid, is a state funded program that helps all Maryland residents who receive Medicare and are low income eligible to pay for these expenses. In addition to this program, Maryland also offers the Senior Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), another state funded program that is run by the Maryland Department of Aging.
