Nebraska Medicare Assistance Programs
The Nebraska Medicaid program, also called Nebraska Medical Assistance Program (NMAP), is funded by the state to help Medicare eligible and low income enrollees with their medical expenses and other out-of-pocket costs.
Additionally, Nebraska’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program offers various assistance to Medicare recipients, much like the SHIP program, Nebraska’s State Health Insurance Program that offers counseling and education services to Medicare recipients.
The Aid to the Aged, Blind and Disabled (AABD) program offers cash assistance to qualified and low income Nebraska Medicare recipients to help pay out-of-pocket costs. Nebraska also offers a Medicare Savings plan through the Department of Health and Human Services.
