Rhode Island Medicare Assistance Programs

Medicare assistance programs are also available to eligible Rhode Island Medicare enrollees. These programs can help residents of Rhode Island cover the out-of-pocket costs and other related medical expenses.

RIte Care, RIte Share and Medical Assistance Fee-For-Service are the Rhode Island state funded medical assistance programs, known as Medicaid. This program helps eligible low-income Medicare recipients with medical expenses. Rhode Island also offers a prescription drug discount card, which can help lower the cost of out-of-pocket expenses incurred by prescriptions drugs.

Rhode Island also offers the Senior Health Insurance Program, or SHIP, which is run by the Department of Elderly Affairs, Information and Education Division.
