Tennessee Medicare Assistance Programs
The Tennessee Family Assistance Service Center provides the state funded Medicaid program, called TennCare, to low-income Medicare eligible residents with health services and other assistance to help cover out-of-pocket medical care costs. The TennCare Pharmacy program, run by SXC Health Solutions offers help to low income Medicare recipients with out of pocket prescription drug costs.
Tennessee also offers their version of the Senior Health Insurance Program, or SHIP. This program offers free counseling services to individuals who are eligible for Medicare and could use help in finding the Medicare or Medicare Advantage plan right for them.
