Vermont offers Green Mountain Care and it is a state funded medical assistance program for low-income Medicare eligible residents of Vermont. This program covers both medical expenses and prescription drugs.
Vermont also offers Choices for Care, which is a long-term assistance program that can help eligible Medicare recipients with long-term health care expenses.
The State Health Insurance Program, also called SHIP, offers counseling and informational services to Medicare participants in Vermont. These services can educate the residents of Vermont about the many programs available to them and help them apply as well.
