Virginia Medicare Assistance Programs
The Virginia Medicaid program helps eligible Medicare enrollees who cannot afford their medical expenses. In addition, Virginia offers help for Medicare beneficiaries who need Assisted Living. Virginia also offers the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA), which is Virginia’s Prescription coverage program that helps pay out-of-pocket costs of eligible Medicare recipients. Medicare Savings plans and other prescriptions plans are available to those Medicaid recipients who qualify by contacting the Virginia Department of Aging.
Virginia also has the Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP), which provides Medicare beneficiaries with counseling services and education on the various Medicare programs in Virginia.
