In 1974, the company became known as Humana, Inc. with a new focus on hospitals. Humana become the largest hospital in the world in the early 1980s and the company owned over 80 hospitals around the world.

The Humana Foundation

The Humana Foundation was founded in 1981 with a focus on health care, education, culture and disaster relief. The foundation puts great emphasis on staying involved in the community and helping Americans build healthier lives. They support community initiatives and charitable activities.

The foundation has pledged hundreds of thousands of dollars in past years for programs that promote child care, children's health, fitness and wellness.
