The United Health Foundation pledged to offer $1,225,000 in scholarships to over 200 students from diverse, multicultural backgrounds. The scholarships average $5,000 per student and are offered through United Health Foundation's Diverse Scholars Initiative. They are awarded to American-Indian, African-American, Asian-American and Hispanic and Latino students who plan to seek out careers in the health care field. The United Health Foundation has committed over $3 million to the Initiative for scholarships since 2007 and has benefited over 585 students.
