Medicare Assistance Programs for Missouri residents include Medicaid, which is a state funded program. This Medicaid program helps individuals who cannot afford to pay their health care costs out of their own pockets. Missouri residents with low incomes who meet certain eligibility requirements may qualify. In addition, a Low Income Subsidy (LIS) is also available to those who have full Medicaid coverage. If you have limited income, you may be able to get assistance. To find out more, contact your state Medicaid office or call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY: 1-800-325-0778). Hours are 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday – Friday.
There are also other assistance programs for Missouri residents, such as PACE, the Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly. PACE is a Medicare and Medicaid program and helps those with health care needs if they cannot afford them. To find out if you’re eligible and if there’s a PACE program in Missouri, visit the PACE plan search page at Medicare.gov, Medicaid.gov, or call your Medicaid office.
Each state has a State Health Insurance Program, or SHIP, which provides various counseling services and other assistance programs to people with Medicare. Visit www.shiptalk.org for details.
